MCD worked by generating a new netscape.cfg with various customizations and then packaging that file as a part of a standard Communicator install. If you were to look at an installation of Communicator, you would see a file called netscape.cfg file in the same directory where the executable was located. MCD was Netscape’s enterprise solution for customizing Netscape Communicator. This is the story of Netscape Mission Control Desktop (MCD).
